Unitarian Universalist Pennsylvania Legislative Advocacy Network
Stand With Us On The Side of Love:
Our immigration system is taking children from their parents and tearing our nation apart. Any system which breaks up families is, itself, broken. Hospitality is central to spiritual life. The inhospitality and cruelty shown to immigrants today weakens our nation’s soul. As people of faith, we are called to stand with the vulnerable and the oppressed. We are called to welcome the stranger. As neighbors, we must offer refuge to weary travelers, not declare that there is no room at the inn.
Our Current Work for Immigration Justice:
UUPLAN works with the PA Immigration & Citizenship Coalition (PICC) to oppose hostile legislation and to support positive, pro-immigrant legislation at the state level.
With PICC and others we work on the federal level to support the latest initiatives supported by both parties for comprehensive immigtration reform.
To join this Team contact our Immigration Justice Team Leader, Yvonne Marlier (Buxmont), marlieryvo@gmail.com.
UUA Resources for Immigration Justice: Supporting human rights for all people, especially those most vulnerable, is a core Unitarian Universalist value. The Unitarian Universalist Association has a long history of support for migrant workers, refugees, and other displaced peoples. "Immigration as a Moral Issue" is currently one of our congregational study/action issues. Find immigration resources to help you respond:
