It’s Time to Ban Bump Stocks

After the horrific shooting in Las Vegas, Congress did exactly what we’ve come to expect from them: nothing. The shooter used a legal, unregulated accessory called a bump stock to make his semi-automatic rifle shoot like a machine gun, letting him fire more bullets in less time. Learning this led to outrage and calls to ban this accessory– even from Congressional Republicans– and still, Congress did nothing. Instead, they kicked the can to ATF to deal with bump stocks. Now, ATF is deciding if these dangerous devices that make firearms imitate machine guns should be banned. They should, and that’s where we need your help.

ATF wants to hear from the public on this. So if you can take just a minute, please click here to get to the Federal Register and to submit a formal comment. We’ve drafted a comment below urging ATF to ban bump stocks — copy and paste it into the comment box, fill out the required fields, and hit submit comment. That’s it.

The comment period ends on January 25th at 11:59 pm EST, so we need you to act now. Lives depend on it.
